Grau illuminates the new virtual set of the TAU in Valencia

The Audiovisual Workshop of the University of Valencia (TAU) has counted for the expansion of its virtual set with the professional services of Grau Luminotecnia. The lighting equipment has been expanded, following the tau line, integrating leading equipment in teaching, with a line of backlights composed of four Dedolight units of the classic series.

The Audiovisual Workshop of the University of Valencia (TAU) has counted for the expansion of its virtual set with the professional services of Grau Luminotecnia. The extension has allowed to increase the surface of the studio, since it started in September 2008 with a lack in the roof and bottom to be located on the third floor.

With the improvement and enlargement, at present, of the bottom and sides of the chromakey composed of plasterboard material. The extension of the virtual plate respects the construction of plasterboard with curved backgrounds, including a third wall. Another of the improvements is the construction of a room, creating a cabin prior to the entrance to the set of approximately three square meters duly marked with the security and warning light, obtaining soundproofing and at the same time getting to be separated from the lobby of the plant, minimizing noise that could interfere with the recording.

Grau has extended the distances where the spotlights are hung and where the characters are placed, which will be recorded, obtaining a considerable improvement in the camera frames. With this, shots of two or more characters can be offered from different angles.

The lighting equipment has been expanded, following the tau line, integrating leading equipment in teaching, with a line of backlights composed of four Dedolight units of the classic series. Another improvement is to install a line of front light sources separated enough from the plasterboard chromakey. Thanks to this, it is now possible to illuminate the characters without placing tripods on the set.
