Cinematographic excellence is not the result of chance, but of teamwork between creative talent and cutting-edge technological tools.
Sony Professional demonstrated this premise in an exceptional way during special events in collaboration with leading Mexican filmmaker and Alpha Partner, Daniel Blanco, held at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica in Mexico, the Universidad Javeriana in Colombia and the University of Lima in Peru.
The main objective was to demonstrate the technical precision and capacity of the Burano camera designed for high-demand professional film productions and the Sony TRIMASTER 4K High Grade monitor model PVM-X2400. At each university campus, Daniel Blanco recreated visually striking baroque scenes with the aim of exploiting all the technical capabilities of both the camera and the monitor, among which extraordinary color reproduction stands out.
Burano's power was demonstrated with the new BRAVIA TVs where attendees witnessed that the image on the TVs was identical to that emitted by the PVM-X2400 monitor honoring the motto "Cinema Comes Home". Because what the filmmaker shoots with Sony's professional equipment is the same as what the end user enjoys on BRAVIA TVs, without omitting any detail.
Attendees watched in real-time as these scenes were filmed on meticulously set sets equipped with cinematic lighting, precision dolly and the PVM-X2400 monitor, recognized in the industry for its accuracy in color reproduction, image precision and visual consistency. This technical combination showed future filmmakers and audiovisual producers how the union of these teams guarantees absolute fidelity from the creative intention to the captured image.
In addition, the direct visual comparison between the PVM-X2400 monitor and the new BRAVIA TVs demonstrated how Sony Professional ensures that the filmmaker's original vision remains intact throughout the production and playback process, even ensuring the creator's intent right into the user's home.
"We recreated a painting of tenebrism with the help of university students and recorded it with the Sony Burano camera, G Master lenses and a whole Sony ecosystem with which we demonstrate to the audience how all the cinematographic design we have on the film set reaches the screen in the best way. We demonstrated how cinematographers design the image so that it looks the same way in homes," said Daniel Blanco, the architect in charge of exhibiting the magic that left university directors speechless, even invited media from other countries.
"Having a camera like the Burano is a real privilege. The staging and lighting design, by Daniel Blanco, were impeccable, contributing significantly to the experience. The set organization and explanation were detailed and well-structured. In addition, the environment selected for the test, a television studio with optimal conditions, perfectly complemented the proposal," said Juan Camilo Hoyos, production coordinator of the Centro Ático of the Javeriana University of Colombia.
For his part, Manuel Solari Jorie, from the Faculty of Communication of the University of Lima pointed out that "The students and professors of the University of Lima had a very good experience in participating in the presentation of Sony products such as the Burano cinema camera and BRAVIA televisions with a professional director of photography with the experience of Daniel Blanco. The staging was also one of the main attractions of the presentation.
Gonzalo Gamio, Product Manager and Sales Support Engineer at Sony Professional Latin America, emphasized: "This experience highlights our leadership in professional film technology. The BURANO camera and the PVM-X2400 monitor represent the highest standards in audiovisual production, offering results faithful to the creator's vision. Our commitment is to provide solutions that accurately capture the visual language conceived by filmmakers, while maintaining the quality from filming to final exhibition."
Sony is the only creative entertainment company with the professional solutions to create and the technology to enjoy the content conceived in the creator's mind with the absolute fidelity of real life. True to its mission of arousing emotions, "Kando" Sony reaffirms its position as a technological benchmark in the sector, showing once again how innovation and technical precision become essential protagonists in modern film production.
These events are also part of Sony's Technology Agreement Programme, a key initiative in the training of future audiovisual professionals. During the events, students actively participated in the entire production. In this way, Sony gave them a unique experience by bringing them closer to the tools that lead the film industry today.
