The University of Lima produces a large volume of content in a small space, but well equipped with professional technology from Sony and available to students.

The health confinement of 2020 brought challenges to multiple industries, mainly education. The University of Lima, one of the most important higher education institutions in Peru, faced the pandemic with the production of classes and other audiovisual content, within its own recording and post-production studio equipped with the best technology.
Funding from the European Community that the University of Lima won in 2019, gave it the resources to build its own studio comparable to that of any television station, although of reduced dimensions.
The challenge was to generate a strong volume of audiovisual content and the best quality in a compact space and to achieve this, Sony had the necessary equipment. The studio was mainly equipped with Pant Tilt Zoom (PTZ) robotic cameras. For asynchronous courses this camera is very useful because it follows the movements of the teacher without the operation of a cameraman, so the teacher can move freely and write on a special whiteboard without worrying about focus or shots.
This project led by the area of Innovation and Educational Quality (ICE), achieved an impact that exceeded all expectations and that is that the highest point of isolation due to COVID-19, video classes, asynchronous courses and important announcements to students were never an obstacle to maintaining its educational prestige. The university already had a studio ready where recording and live streaming was a great relief at critical moments.
"The ease with which we produce the videos saves us a lot of time, we only focus on supporting the teacher or director with their script and other aspects of content, but on the technical side such as lights, teleprompter and Sony cameras and microphones, everything is very immediate and simple," said Alberto Matsuura, Coordinator of Educational Innovation at the University of Lima.
"Sony helped us a lot, especially because having a small space, the robotic PTZ cameras and their remote operation give us the confidence that we will get good shots for quality videos," he added.
How did Sony help?
The challenge: To generate quality audiovisual content for the university community in a small space, but with all the necessary conditions.
The solution: Sony's robotic PTZ cameras that do not require manual operation and follow the movement of the teacher or object in focus and Sony Edge Analytics that reduced time and resources.
The result: Easy and fast content for the area of Innovation and Educational Quality.
For more than seven years, Sony and the University of Lima have established an important relationship with which they periodically renew their audiovisual equipment and receive training workshops, as well as punctual maintenance if required. This study is a great resource with immediate availability in which the only element necessary for it to work is the creativity of the area of Innovation and Educational Quality.
The university also takes advantage of the benefits of consumer cameras such as the ZV-E10 for outdoor recording. This interchangeable-lens camera solves your video needs thanks to its intuitive features and ease of live streaming.
This studio is very well equipped with the following solutions, which Sony has available in Latin America:
• Sony PTZ robotic camera with PTZ Auto Framing MFR technology #SRG-A40
• Sony Edge Analytics REA-C1000 MFR #REA-C1000. PAC
