Latin America. ARRI introduced a new control option for its latest cameras: the CCM-1. It's a 7" docked monitor that provides full camera control and menu access for ALEXA 35 and ALEXA Mini LF.
The CCM-1 opens up new camera setup possibilities by combining ARRI's color accuracy and a luminous display with customizable controls and solid build quality.
In response to requests from camera operators who prefer to evaluate framing and exposure through an attached monitor instead of a viewfinder, ARRI offers its new CCM-1 camera control monitor. Jointly developed by ARRI and SmallHD, the CCM-1 provides alternative control, menu and image interface, and can fully replace or work alongside the viewfinder.
The CCM-1 displays a bright, high-contrast HD image on its 7" IPS LCD screen that is easily visible in daylight from different viewing angles. Like the proven MVF-2, it connects via the camera's VF connector and delivers an image that faithfully conveys the precision and subtlety of ARRI color handling. Sensor level monitoring functions use the full resolution of the sensor, for example, when zooming in on the image for more precise focus control. The false color tool on the CCM-1 is much friendlier than on standard monitors with SDI connection because it only affects the image coming from the camera and not the status information.
When using the camera's VF connector, the CCM-1 frees both SDI outputs for other uses. It supports VF cables up to 10 meters long, providing operational flexibility in tight spaces, cranes, dollies and rigs in vehicles. The CCM-1 can alternatively be connected via SDI as a normal attached monitor, allowing the application of ALF-2 and ALF-4 look files, full access to the SmallHD toolkit and its use with third-party cameras. Multiple other connection options allow for different camera configurations and types of use.
Constructed of aluminum, the CCM-1 is durable, watertight and temperature resistant, materializing ARRI's reputation for robust, ready-to-use equipment. Several mechanical interfaces using the new ARRI Pin-Lock standard allow flexible mounting options.
The CCM-1 is now available to ship and will be compatible with future ALEXA 35 SUP 1.2 and ALEXA Mini LF SUP 7.3 software update packages.
