Colombia. In a constant technological evolution such as the one experienced in the broadcast industry, there are more and more offers of equipment, systems and manufacturers available to end users, who have the difficult task of choosing the best offer for their media.
Regarding this dynamic, José Rojano, Manager of the Colombian firm AVTech Ltda, pointed out that "Actually, this dependence on traditional brands tends to decrease... Obviously, the new connectivity offerings such as IP have awakened a growing generation of brands and products that traditional firms or brands have not fully covered, precisely because they are conglomerates that tend to make very late decisions, while these other proposals of small brands that are willing to undertake new products and commercial strategies that are not very considered by the big ones in the industry are emerging."
He added that "In other words, the big firms move like 'elephants', of course they tread hard, but these other small firms that have recently emerged, they are like 'rats' that move at high speed and in any direction. The latter are the ones that the market is targeting because of low costs and innovative options."
And precisely about these new technologies, he highlighted that it is very notorious to see how the trend for IP and 4K ecosystems are very appreciated lately. Not to mention the increase in everything that wireless production entails.
According to the experience of AVTech Ltda, the transformation of the industry in recent years is related to a dynamic and highly changing technology, likewise everything that is part of this commercial and technological segment will always be in constant activity and change.
"We have witnessed big changes in both the industry and the way the product is presented to the user. This is incredibly fascinating. Another aspect to highlight, not at all minuscule, is the economic capacity to acquire the products to form an ecosystem... Just a few years ago, this was a utopia," he said.
Finally, regarding NAB Show 2024, he mentioned that "Visiting NAB every year is always a pleasant experience, not only for the contact with colleagues and sharing with great friends, but also for discovering the trends and new technological proposals that exhibitors give us. This year, I think everything that is supported in one way or another with AI, VR, cloud and IP will be strengthened."
