Chile. The Chilean Government has appointed as the new President of the National Television Council, CNTV, the lawyer Catalina Parot Donoso, replacing gastón Gómez Bernales, who for personal reasons gave up assuming the position, but who will continue to serve as a counselor of the organization.
Catalina Parot is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, has postgraduate studies in Political Science at the University of Chile and Classical Philology at the Catholic University of Valparaíso.
During the first government of President Sebastián Piñera, between 2010 and 2012, Parot served as Minister of National Assets. She has also served as president of the Fecunda Foundation (2015-to date), general manager of Viña Corral Victoria (2002-2009) and has been a panelist for the television programs Estado Nacional (2014-2016) and Tolerancia 0 (2017).
