International. The founder, former Director of Operations and Country Manager in Portugal of the company, Nuno Alves is the new CEO of wTVision. Mário Sousa, who led wTVision as CEO since its founding in Lisbon 17 years ago, and oversaw its global expansion, will become the company's non-executive chairman, joining Mediapro (wTVision's parent company) as head of sales and marketing for the American market.
In a joint statement, both Nuno and Mário alluded to "the beginning of a new cycle at wTVision, which will continue to lead the company on its path to success, innovation and steady growth."
Nuno Alves was in charge of wTVision's Global Operations from 2001 to 2012, when he moved to Brazil to become Administration and Finance Manager of Mediapro Brazil and Managing Director of Revolution Broadcast (which is also part of Mediapro).
In 2014, Nuno Alves returned to Portugal to resume his COO position at wTVision and assume the position of Country Manager Portugal. Four years later he is rising to the position of Executive Director.
Founder and former CEO of wTVision, leader of the company's international expansion, Mário Sousa created wTVision Belgium, in 2005 (the first division of wTVision outside Portugal), and wTVision Middle East and wTVision Spain, in 2008. Two years later, in 2010, he founded wTVision Brazil and, in 2012, wTVision USA and wTVision India. More recently, in 2016, Mário Sousa opened a new office in Bolivia.
wTVision participates in thousands of broadcasts each year and operates in more than 60 countries, making it a preferred option for producers around the world. With more than 300 employees, offices in Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Dubai, Brazil, USA, India and Bolivia, the company is starting a new chapter, with the same motivation to develop innovative solutions for the broadcasting industry.
