Colombia. The Ministry of ICT and Canal Trece launch the call 'Stories of change', an initiative that aims to encourage the work of individuals who develop different trades within the audiovisual industry. Those interested must accredit the respective experience in audiovisual genres or formats: fiction, documentary, animation, among others.
This initiative will receive up to 1,000 audiovisual proposals, of which 300 will be selected. The broadcasting rights of the content chosen in the call will be purchased for broadcast on the digital screens of public television.
To carry this out, the MinTIC will deliver economic awards for $4,200 million (about US$1.1 million), with which 300 audiovisual contents will be financed for a value of $14 million each.
How does it work?
This edition is made up of the following modalities of participation:
- Modality 1: Aimed at individuals who present a unitary format of four to six minutes. A proposer will be admitted in this modality.
Modality 2: Web miniseries of two chapters of four to six minutes each. It is possible to alternate a main plot with other stories or subplots, as long as they respond to an overall arc or concept of series or format. Two proposers will be admitted in this modality.
Modality 3: Web miniseries of three chapters of four to six minutes each. It is possible to alternate a main plot with other stories or subplots, as long as they respond to an overall arc or concept of series or format. Three proponents will be admitted in this modality.
Among the requirements to participate are: being of legal age, residing in Colombia and being part of the audiovisual industry. In addition, participants are expected to possess experience in roles such as directors, screenwriters, actors, crew members, independent producers, or other related roles.
Likewise, applicants must demonstrate their professional career in the sector, their affiliation to trade associations of the audiovisual industry or the recognitions obtained in film festivals, both nationally and internationally.
Dates to keep in mind
- From May 17 to June 15, registrations could be made to participate in the call.
- August 2: Winners announced. From 12 August to 5 September: production and delivery of audiovisual material modality 1.
- From August 12 to September 10: production and delivery of audiovisual material modality 2.
- From 12 August to 20 September: production and delivery of audiovisual material modality 3.
- November 21: Awards event.
