Brazil. Grass Valley's camera technology has been chosen as a camera supplier by grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação to produce the successful entertainment program "Faustão na Band". Grass Valley's LDX series cameras will help cement the broadcaster as one of the leading providers of premium content in the region, bringing richer, high-quality multimedia experiences to audiences.
"Consumers are looking for more captivating content because they want to immerse themselves in the best viewing experience," said Thiago Perrella, Director of Engineering and Technology at Grupo Bandeirantes de Comunicação. "Our mission is to be at the forefront of content creation in Brazil, and taking advantage of 4K UHD productions based on IP technology is fundamental to this. Grass Valley has been our trusted partner for over two decades, and by launching our "Faustão na Band" program we knew that Grass Valley was the right transformation partner to ensure our audience remained delighted with our content. The technical know-how and overall support of the team is paramount, and we are excited to embark on this journey."
This implementation is part of Bandeirantes' broader strategy to transition to IP-based workflows. Supporting customers to create live production environments that suit their needs, by combining on-premises, hybrid and public cloud technologies, is critical to GV Media Universe (GVMU), and Grass Valley's LDX camera series is network-native, with network connections for audio, video and control directly on the camera head.
This allows Bandeirantes to distribute camera sources anywhere on the network without delay, saving space and costs. In addition, Grass Valley's LDX camera series sets the standard by combining image quality with ease of use in capturing live images with high sensitivity to image detail, allowing production teams to create rich images in native full-raster UHD.
Fernando David, sales director of Grass Valley in Brazil, added: "Having a leading technology provider that can provide both traditional and state-of-the-art technologies, such as cloud, IP and software-based, that support outdoor, remote and studio productions, offers a clear advantage to provide reliability and greater scope for creative flexibility. This is the foundation of our GV Media Universe (GVMU) strategy, which enables media companies to leverage software and hardware technology to create workflows that help them produce amazing content more efficiently. We are delighted to partner with Bandeirantes once again as part of the station's transition to IP and 4K ready productions."
