Latin America. After 40 years in the company, Luiz Padilha announced that he will leave his position as president of Sony Professional Solutions Latin America as of March 31.
The executive, who was in office since September 2018, reported his retirement in a virtual event with media in which he presented the results of the last fiscal year of the company.
He stressed that after a difficult 2020 due to the pandemic, they achieved a growth in sales of 30% in 2021, driven mainly by the high production of content, camera system projects in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Panama, in addition to other segments that the company manages such as the medical area, where investments in equipment and technologies different from those necessary to address the pandemic grew.
On the shortage of components for the technology industry, Luiz Padilha said that Sony will be affected by fiscal year 2022, with difficulties for dispatch in about 30% of purchase orders.
Finally, on the presence of Sony at NAB Show next April, he commented that the company has been able to confirm meetings with a significant number of customers in Latin America, more than 300, will have their face-to-face meeting with representatives of the region and the Technology Forum will be virtual.
Luiz Padilha will also be in Las Vegas, but already in his new role as an industry consultant.
