International. ARRI's approved certified Pre-Owned, or CPO, program, which markets a selection of used and refurbished equipment, allowing the company's products to be purchased at better prices, expanded its offer to lighting equipment.
"With this additional level to our lighting portfolio, we offer a more cost-effective option to access our technology. We also provide educational institutions with a great opportunity to provide high-quality equipment to their students," commented Stephan Schenk, Managing Director of ARRI Cine Technik and Managing Director of Global Sales and Solutions at ARRI.
The cameras and their accessories, lenses, stabilizer systems and archiving solutions included in the CPO program are covered by a one-year warranty. However, lighting products have the advantage of a two-year warranty.
In general, in the CPO program, teams receive a certification seal because they must go through a thorough examination before being released for sale; which includes repairs and tests, evidence of quality and excellent performance.
In the case of lighting equipment, the selected lights go through the repair of mechanical defects, updating of electrical and electronic components and replacing worn parts. The light source of each LED lighting fixture is checked to factory specifications and, if it does not meet them, is replaced. Each lighting fixture then receives the latest firmware. To conclude, the equipment goes through a final performance test in which it must demonstrate its full functionality.
