International. The program specialized in football analysis Mister Underdog relies on the Blackmagic URSA Broadcast model and the ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K mixer for its live productions.
The decision to use Blackmagic Design equipment came about because Patton's team in charge of producing the show live, twice a week at Teatros Luchana in Madrid with a small audience, wanted to ensure quality and meet audience expectations.
Miguel Patón, CEO of Patton, said: "With limited production space, we needed a camera that was lightweight, compact and didn't interfere with the audience's experience. It was important to ensure interactive coverage, in which rapid plane changes are made that follow the thread of the conversation as if the viewer were in the studio."
The solution was a multi-camera package that includes two URSA Broadcast units mounted on cranes and three Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro exclusive for the panelists' shots, the latter chosen for their high quality for Internet transmissions. These cameras also use different Micro 4/3 lenses, such as the Panasonic Lumix 14-140mm and 44-175mm models.
"The size and brightness of the screen made the difference for our operators, considering the low light conditions on site, as well as the intuitive controls, ideal for overcoming the challenges of the simplest live productions," said Miguel.
Finally, everything is mixed in an ATEM 4 M/E Broadcast Studio 4K with an ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel device, and then sends the main signal to YouTube via VMix.

Mister Underdog is an online program that, in an irreverent tone, offers analysis of plays, signings and opinions about football in Europe, but especially in Spain, which ensures in its publications that "no sports director will recognize in public to see us".
