Latin America. Merlin Distributor has been named as JVC's new distributor for Latin America, joining the range of distributors established in the region.
"Merlin is a company established for many years with important sales of JVC in Brazil, with a relationship with our brand for more than 20 years and have done an excellent job in Brazil and now that with their company Merlin Distributor they operate with a great capacity throughout Latin America with their network of 70 resellers in 13 countries, JVC has considered giving the authorization to officially market its products throughout the region, in order to reach a wider range of users, "said Pedro Mees, General Manager of JVC Professional Company.
Although Merlin Distributor has access to the entire JVC product line, in principle they will be focused on the commercialization of the 4K line of handheld cameras, highlighting the GY-HM 250, GY-HM 180 and GY-HC500, also adding the intermediate JVC product line as PTZ cameras. "First of all, we want their business focus to be JVC's most massive products," he said.
Focusing on 2021 and trying to leave behind the situation of the pandemic, Pedro Mees commented: "After the beginning of all this new health situation that slowed down the business, we have had a continuous growth in the acceptance of our products, mainly because JVC was already very developed with the connectivity part, which we have been talking about and promoting for years. This capacity, quality and technical characteristics of our equipment to be able to have a connection, to be able to make a streaming, to be able to put graphics directly on the camera, not to need any additional equipment, to have integration with Facebook Live, with YouTube Live, all this already integrated in the same camera, has made the market know and understand that it had a need for this application, and this has placed us in a more important position in the market, with a greater acceptance by users for these qualities of our equipment".
Finally, he explained how JVC is gaining operations in Latin America: "We also implement a workflow based on SRT, which is a protocol that is increasingly accepted and approved by the market, which is bringing us many remote production projects, and other applications, which is putting us in a very good position with some television networks that want to lower costs and increase transmission capacity."
