Colombia. The MINISTRIES OF ICT and Culture presented a new edition of the Crea Digital 2021 call, to support and reactivate the Orange Economy in the country with a pool of resources of $4,048 million, about US$1.1 million.
"The creation of audiovisual content is at the heart of the Orange Economy model and will dominate the digital transformation with its various interactive formats; video games, animated series, transmedia and digital content, among other formats. Colombia is called to be a leader in Latin America in this sector and calls such as Crea Digital are a support to reach that goal, "said the Minister of Culture, Felipe Buitrago, who added that registration will be open until April 27.
For her part, the ICT Minister, Karen Abudinen, said that "this initiative that unites the ministries of ICT and Culture was born in 2012 and is consolidated as the most important seedbed of cultural and educational digital content in the country. In this edition, $4,048 million will be awarded to 44 initiatives in seven categories."
The call is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises and organizations that have a relationship with cultural industries, software development, ICT and production of interactive digital content, including mypimes, universities and public and private higher education institutions (HEIs), non-profit organizations and ethnic organizations and communities (Indigenous, Black, Afro-Colombian, Raizales and Palenqueras -NARP- and Rrom or Gitanas).
"It's been 10 years of believing in Colombia's digital creative industry and giving a boost to Colombia's Orange Economy. For the second time, Crea Digital opens the ethnicity category, in which eight projects with resources exceeding 400 million pesos will benefit. With these incentives we bet on decentralizing culture and impacting more Colombians," said Culture Minister Felipe Buitrago.
The head of the ICT portfolio explained that this year the investment of the national government increased and the category 'Realization of Transmedia Content' was opened, "to support companies in the industry that have defined commercial proposals and have a strategic partner that guarantees their production, marketing and circulation".
Meanwhile, the Minister of Culture recalled that "in the first nine editions we have benefited 207 companies, with a flow of resources of $ 19,458 million."
