Chile. The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, MTT, began the process of vaccinating the technicians who work in the different telecommunications companies in the country, as a precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19 and also allowing users to maintain their connectivity in the face of the new restrictions resulting from preventive quarantines.
In this way, it is expected to vaccinate a total of more than 10 thousand technicians who provide services for telecommunications companies.
This process was carried out in the ellipse of O'Higgins Park, where the mobile vaccination center arranged by the Municipality of Santiago is located, and where the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Pamela Gidi, the Director of Health of the Municipality of Santiago, Sandra León, and about 20 technicians from the companies VTR, Movistar, arrived. Entel, GTD, Mundo, Claro, WOM, Direct TV and Netline.
The Undersecretary of Telecommunications, Pamela Gidi said that "this measure will allow users to count on personnel who can solve their connectivity problems and that professionals can work with greater tranquility inside homes, delivering a security tool to face the pandemic. The telecommunications industry has been instrumental in keeping the connectivity of millions of users operational, so this move further reinforces its commitment to the safety of its workers and users."
