Chile. The Chilean Congress agreed to increase the Audiovisual Fund of the National Television Council by $1.415 billion (about US$1.8 million). Thanks to the joint work of the entire National Television Council during this year 2019, the CNTV Fund managed to recover the resources for 2020.
In this way, the Fund will go from Chilean $3,322 million (about US$4.2 million) this year to Chilean $4,734 million (about US$6 million) for next year.
"The cross-cutting agreement reached in budgetary matters will allow the Fund to continue contributing to generating quality content for audiences and opening new opportunities for the audiovisual industry throughout our territory," said President Catalina Parot.
He also valued the contribution of the different departments of the institution, from the specificity of each area, which contributed to achieving this objective. "With this internal work, it was possible to efficiently transmit to the different institutional counterparts the importance of the CNTV Fund for the audience, which are all Chileans," he said.
"And it is that the CNTV Fund goes directly to the benefit of the audience, which with these resources has been able to access a more varied, high quality and free television offer," emphasized President Catalina Parot.
