Colombia. The ICT Ministry invited those interested to participate this Friday, November 22, in the public hearing to close proposals and open envelopes of the process of awarding permits for community broadcasters.
The organized communities that have not yet applied have until that date and before noon, to deliver the required documentation physically, either personally or by registered mail, at the MinTIC facilities in Bogotá.
At the hearing, the ballot boxes and envelopes containing the proposals will be opened, in order to continue with the transparent and participatory process that complies with the conditions established in the terms of reference of the call.
The MinTIC will analyze the proposals of the organized communities, which must comply with the requirements demanded by Call 001 of 2019, in order to operate a new community station. It has been 10 years since the award of these permits was carried out in the country.
Those interested in participating in the public hearing may do so in person with free admission, or virtually through the transmission on the MinTIC website (www.mintic.gov.co) and on the "fanpage" on Facebook, "Ministerio TIC Colombia".
Currently, Colombia has 627 of these stations, so it hopes to have new frequencies that provide a social service and strengthen access to information from next year.
