Colombia. During her participation in the forum organized by the Akubadaura Community of Jurists, the representative of the National Television Board, JNTV, explained the Ethnic Television project advanced by the National Television Authority, ANTV.
"Together (with the indigenous communities) we agreed on plans projected for ten years, in which we recognize that the language, culture, form and vision of each of the peoples is so strong that they must have the possibility of reaching other audiences, the world in general," said the JNTV member, who said that these plans are an example of success of prior consultation, with emphasis on mutual recognition, consultation and consent.
Suzy Sierra Ruíz also indicated that "the purpose is for ethnic groups to adopt the transmedia narrative so that they can disseminate their contents, from their diversity, with the help of all the new technologies that are at their disposal"
He also pointed out that with the "formation of audiovisual collectives, the conservation of heritage, and the realization of audiovisual content by indigenous communities" the knowledge of the different ethnic groups has been strengthened. "Through DTT, these contents have been shown throughout the country," he said.
The forum fostered a dialogue on the fundamental right to prior consultation, redistributive justice and the final peace agreement with the FARC, among other issues, to promote the participation of different sectors and actors of national society, with different visions and positions, on these issues.
