Peru. The President of the Republic, Martín Vizcarra Cornejo, took the oath of office to María Jara Risco, as the new head of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, in a ceremony held in the historic facilities of the Golden Hall of the Government Palace.
The meeting, which was also attended by the president of the Council of Ministers, Salvador del Solar, was read the supreme resolution that designates the new holder of the Portfolio of Transport and Communications.
María Jara is a lawyer from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and holds a master's degree in Competition Law and Intellectual Property. With more than fifteen years of experience in the public and private sector, specialized in administrative law, regulation and management of public services and implementation of public policies. His experience is linked to land transport, sustainable mobility, urban development and arbitration.
He worked in the Urban Transport management of the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML). In his management he directed the implementation of the public policies of sustainable mobility of the city.
She also served as head of the Superintendence of Land Transport of People, Cargo and Goods (Sutran), general director of Land Transport of the MTC and general director of Policies and Regulatory Analysis in the Ministry of Production (Produce).
María Jara has published several articles in renowned legal journals of the medium and opinion portals and has teaching experience at the postgraduate level at the PUCP and the Universidad del Pacífico.
