Colombia. The Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies, MinTIC, began the process that will grant permits to use the spectrum for sound broadcasting, aimed at new local stations.
The award will be fulfilled by public tender, which is why the entity prepares the process starting with the manifestation of interests made by the communities they consider have the possibility of accessing that resource administered by the State and that then the Ministry must submit to an objective selection in accordance with technical and legal parameters.
The process will be opened for the entire national territory, thus ratifying the policy of the ICT Minister, Sylvia Constaín, to strengthen the community media, recognizing them as a means of expression and tool that gives solidity to Colombian democracy. The entity shall also award commercial issuers at a later stage.
Those interested must be organized communities that reside in the respective municipality in which they are applying and that have the capacity to operate the station.
Those who aspire to enter the process can send their statement to the link http://gestion-espectro.mintic.gov.co indicating the municipality for which they wish to acquire the concession.
