Mexico. In addition to presenting cutting-edge technology to Mexican customers, the Iberian company VSN demonstrated the advantages of the Muyal platform, a content exchange system between 70 public, cultural and educational television stations in Mexico, said Roberto Duif, Sales Director for the Americas at VSN.
"We are presenting a platform – which is in pilot mode – to exchange content between the 70 entities that make up the Network of Educational and Cultural Broadcasters and Television Stations of Mexico (Red)," he said.
And he said: "The platform is called Muyal (in Mayan language). What we have done is to enable a MAM platform in the cloud to manage all news content, documentaries and other productions. The platform allows the exchange of news content in the Mexican elections, that is, that all states can contribute with their notes so that they reach all entities and all public channels. Even that they can be distributed outside of these.
He explained: "Let's say, it is an effort to demonstrate how together these channels are an important force at the level of journalistic capacity and generation of quality content. There are 70 media between televisions and radios. There are thirty-six associates and some have television. This is based on a previous experience that was developed in Catalonia, more than ten years ago. More than 60 television and radio stations exchange content with acceleration, among these local channels that in this way can fill the grid with valuable content for everyone and increase its relevance."
After NAB Show 2018, the executive considered: "We are presenting all the novelties we have in the VSNExplorer system that we presented at NAB. Integration of artificial intelligence, plugin for news systems, to be able to integrate the Explorer inside, to be able to download solutions, and the complete cloud solution that we have today".
