Mexico. Riedel's technological developments in Mexico played an important role in the recent Mexican elections. Intercom equipment and devices for content distribution networks were used during television broadcasts of political debates in the country's elections, said Angel Gonzalez Spain, International Sales Manager for Latin America at Riedel Communications.
"In the different debates, in the television stations where they have our equipment implemented, they were given many facilities. For example: Channel 11 —which led the debates in Mexico City—, thanks to MediorNet MicroN, different uses could be made within the workflow, which make them very flexible for them. Just as communications were also very important to be able to have clear and precise communication, they also played a preponderant role there."
The executive explained the advantages of Riedel's developments. "From the beginning of our MediorNet solution, which has different applications such as the standard, the router, multiviewer, as well as the point-point we already have the IP solution. You can already have a hybrid network where you have IP signals and baseband signals, in SD, HD, 3G and 4K formats. Those kinds of advantages are already integrated within MediorNet, to make that transition for the IP. This benefits in reducing implementation costs and migration from baseband to IP."
On the performance of the company in Latin America, González España said: "We are going quite well, already starting this year with the changes that took place within the company, where the Latin region is already created within Riedel, which seeks to continue the growth of the attention that has already been given during the previous years and give it greater emphasis. We have a new distributor in Argentina; here in Mexico we already have a couple of integrators, with projects that we are working on in South and Central America. This year's outlook is pretty good, it looks good in the second half. The first semester went very well with the World Cup Russia 2018; various communication systems, transportation, audio, video, data and intercom routing are already there."
