Mexico. Despite the great penetration of 4K, television stations and producers are allocating it to long-term productions; while in general, content such as sports and news are being made in HD format, which will remain for a long time in the market, said Sergio Noriega, deputy director of AVPro Sales of Panasonic Mexico.
"Series, novels and productions at all levels are already being made in 4K. The reality is that the news aspect, the daily aspect of television is still HD and we believe that this is going to remain for a long time, since our on-air transmission system is HD. Internet penetration will gradually gain ground, however users for 4K out there is still a minimal amount. Production is one thing, viewers are another entirely. Yes, it is a trend, but it is still limited. Not so the production of series and novels that are made in 4K, because they are made to last a long time, "said the executive.
During Expo Cine, TV y Video 2018, Panasonic Mexico shared one of the main awards for having provided cutting-edge technology to Grupo Imagen in the deployment of the third national digital television network. "They selected us. Thank you to the people who had the vision to choose our technology. At this level the truth is that they are all good, we offer product quality, but we are also in Mexico, we have an establishment in which we can directly serve important customers and give support directly from the factory. We give continuous training and I think those are very important factors for a client who bets on a company that is established in Mexico," Noriega said.
On the equipment that equipped Grupo Imagen, the executive detailed: "Basically high-level camcorders and high-level studio cameras. The camcorders are the AK-HC5000 camera, it is high speed; it works at 240 frames per second, so it has very specific video particularities, such as a high level of the specifications of the camera itself. Additionally you can connect servers that are associated with Panasonic, such as Evertz or EVS, to achieve slow motion directly from a studio camera."
