Latin America. LED lighting for the broadcast and film industries needs to be gradually perfected. Technological advances will be perfected in the future, said Ricardo Ortiz, Rosco's Sales Manager for Latin America.
"I think it's towards an improvement. 10 years ago the first versions of LED tended a little green and you had to do a little correction, they did not have the color temperature range that they now have. In this period, a decade, the evolution of the quality indices that have all these lights, of the good brands, are increasingly practical, more compact, with less energy expenditure and a generation is also using them for portability. For a new generation it is reduced to a few suitcases and a few lights that give the solution. I think it goes between quality, compact lights, light efficiency and energy saving."
Rosco remains in the Latin American market: "We present a kind of transition, we stopped participating in this exhibition and we have returned after five years, because in this period of time and shortly before, Rosco has been developing new lighting equipment. The idea we have to participate now is that the public knows us very well for the filtering of light, gelatins and other solutions for the scene, but we want them to now relate us as a lighting company for cinema, television and architecture mainly."
Ortiz considered that the demand for better lighting is greater: "Film and television people have a greater demand for light. Today's cameras reveal details that were previously not so punctual, so accurate. Then it requires nuances, an adequate light control to have good productions. Light has to go hand in hand with these new technologies."
