Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, granted the good pro of 24 fm sound broadcasting frequencies in 12 regions of the country for a total amount of S/ 899 914.
The award corresponded to the last public tender of the year organized by the General Directorate of Authorizations in Telecommunications of the MTC and the committee appointed by the Vice Ministry of Communications.
Thus, the economic proposals for the localities located in the regions of Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Junín, La Libertad, Lima, Moquegua, Pasco, Piura, San Martín and Ucayali were tendered. The frequencies awarded by locality are:
The public tender sought business competition to award a total of 37 broadcasting frequencies in various locations. It also provided new opportunities for private investment in the broadcasting market, generating greater communication, information, education and entertainment alternatives for Peruvians.
The MTC will continue to promote private investment in telecommunications through public tenders as well as with the allocation of available frequencies in localities classified as border, rural areas and of preferential social interest, whose authorizations are granted at the request of the interested parties.
