International. There are many Digital Video On Demand (VOD) Platforms available in the Spanish market, but the vast majority remain unknown to the general public.
This conclusion is derived from this report Digital Platforms of Cinema and Series in Spain 2016, developed by Findanygame, based on the data included in its database Video On Demand Platforms in Spain and those contained in said Video On Demand platforms.
This report, as it did in 2015, aims to publicize the wide range of Digital Video On Demand (VOD) Platforms, and therefore, online audiovisual content available in the Spanish market. And it is that if then they could quantify in 180 the existing digital platforms, today they reach 338.
There are available for the Spanish market more than 80,000 unique titles in terms of films, of all kinds of genres and aimed at all types of audiences, from in-depth novelties of catalog, from blockbusters to independent films, offered by the 158 platforms and services that offer cinema among their contents. And there are 111 platforms that offer series (more than 7,000 different), also the most varied, from children's cartoons, anime, telenovelas, the most recent series, webseries, etc.
In the report there are Spanish platforms, but there are also foreign ones based in Spain or that offer their services through a Spanish operator (a total of 109), and there are also foreign ones that operate from outside our country and their contents are available in our market (229).
Among them, 235 platforms offer content with free access for users, and 154 paid (there are several that combine free and paid content), either rented, purchased or subscribed with a flat rate that is usually monthly.
