Some NAB releases

altRenewed precision lens
The third generation of its precision focus lens will be one of the novelties that Fujinon will present at NAB Show 2011. This equipment has a better focus response, less light loss and is small in size.

The accuracy of the focusing system adopts a contrast method that uses the differences in the length of the optical path. It can be mounted on any 2/3" camera.

The PF function is integrated into the lens and can be in operation with the lens mounted on a 2/3" camera without the need for additional configuration or optional devices.

When the PF lens is mounted on a camera, a focus area is displayed in the viewfinder. The size and position of the focus area can be changed at the discretion of the camera operator. This function allows greater flexibility in the selection of the focus area depending on the type of production.

One of the advantages that the lens offers to the operator is that he can concentrate on the formulation of the vaccine, knowing that the topic will be in the perfect approach. It is especially effective when focusing is difficult, as when the camera is in a very low or a high position.

 

altProfessional video climber
Atlona will take advantage of the fair to present the AT-LINE-PRO4, a professional-quality 10-input video climber that allows four HDMI / DVI, three VGA, one S-Video, a composite video input to be climbed and a single HDMI output.

The LINE-PRO4 is designed to allow users to scale any input input to a native screen resolution of up to 1080p or 1920x1200.

Haivision shows the evolution of its Furnace system IP video distribution equipment, with the Furnace 6.0, with improved workflow and a new InStream player, which now supports MultiStream.

It features the ability to record, distribute and synchronize playback of multiple HD H.264 media streams. It allows users to record an environment in the classroom, both with the speaker and the computer content listened to and captured at the same time at a full frame rate, in high definition and in real time.

With Furnace 6.0, the real-time metadata application called HotMarks and automatically publishing content to authorized MultiStream users is simple, with new and streamlined recording workflows.

altMore technology for slow motion
I-MoviX will debut the latest version of SprintCam HD VVS, the slow motion that includes an innovative HD production system with live streaming, which now operates at frame rates up to 2,700 frames per second in 1080i50 or up to 5,800 frames per second in 720p60.

This feature makes it 200 times slower than live action. It also provides instant repetition in the native resolution of high definition and image quality.

Specially designed for live streaming use, SprintCam Vvs HD can be specified in a standard camera version or optimized to be shoulder-mounted.

It has operational enhancements including support for the SVE server in motion mode, a digital lens interface for better iris, and the lens control switch.

In addition, it improves the playback controls and a new control of command equipped in the panel. It features the latest generation of Vision Research high-speed HD camera, an operational control panel that provides real color with matrix transmission quality and frame-rate choice control

altPlatform for video processing
Snell will launch at the NAB Show 2011 his new developments that seek to facilitate the work with video and audio.

One of them is the IQ Modular 3G, a new video and audio processing platform. This is a compact equipment, which has a highly integrated treatment engine allows flexible signal handling and, in space-bound uses, can serve as an advanced audio processing solution.

It will also introduce a new range of fiber optical intercoating modules that combine electrical-to-optical conversion with critical treatment functions such as video synchronization.

This space-saving fiber solutions were integrated that free users from the constraints of copper infrastructure and allow them to work with both cajoling and fiber in planning the cost-effective HD extension and 3Gbps (1080p) signal delivery.

altMulti-purpose camera
The WeissCAM HD-2 MKII is a new multipurpose camera developed by the German company P + S Technik and will be presented during NAB. This is characterized by integrating perfectly into existing environments.

This camera can be adapted to recording in different tasks. In Movie Mode it provides higher image quality for recording at any time-lapse frame rate at standard speed rates (24p/25p/29.97p/30p) and high rate rates of up to 2200 frames per second at 720p.

It also reduces reading noise and 30% better signal performance, especially at lower frame rates (24/25/30) and lower high-speed rates.

Studio mode allows the integration of the WEISSCAM HD-2 MKII directly into studio environments. It provides RAW support for recording external IT devices such as workstations in studio environments via GigE.

The workflow in cinema studios takes advantage of new features such as easy camera setup and control, HD preview via HDSDI possibility (on the monitor) and HD recording via HD-SDI.

The last mode is what the company has called Rental or All Use, which offers the possibility of being a chamber dedicated to the rental business for multiple purposes.


  altMonitors for 2D and 3D

TVLogic will showcase the new 2D and 3D capable monitors for film and television production and post-production, which combine the latest in flat-screen technology with advanced video processing designs to meet the demanding requirements of broadcast, production, post-production, digital signage and multi-viewer applications.

The reference that will be in NAB Show is the TDM-243W/473W, available in 24" and 47". These broadcast and post-production monitors feature a micro-polarizer filter with 1920x1080 and LED backlighting.

They also feature 12-bit video processing that offers a smooth grayscale to the 10-bit LCD. And a built-in user-definable 3D LUT or predefined color spaces that allow accurate color display in 2D or 3D.

It can also accept multiple 3D signal formats (3G, dual-link L/R, sequential and side-to-side HD-SDI). Designed for OB broadcast, production and production-post environments, it accepts a wide variety of both analog and SD and high-definition digital video formats.

Additional features include Horizontal Flip, Internal Speaker (2W x 2), Support HDMI 1.4, Automatic Color Calibration Support, and Integrated 8-Channel Audio Measurement.

altSolutions for 3D production
Mistika Live is the latest product of the company SGO, dedicated to facilitating the development of programs for the creation of stereoscopic 3D images.

It has tools that allow color correction in 3D productions, by providing the pre-visualization and configuration of post-production, or to be used in a live environment.

It is the last workstation in a stereoscopic 3D shooting environment or on set, it becomes an essential tool that allows real-time adjustments, as well as the creation of journals, multimedia files and editorial.

Taking a dual HD-SDI stereo signal, Mistika Live makes geometry adjustments to match the running line of cameras, as well as matching color, to correct for color differences between cameras.

The result can be seen in real time, live and in 3D. It also allows convergence of simple changes, which is usually corrected in the post-production phase, to pass live on set, which allows an easier evaluation of the images in real time.

altNew versions of working with video
Artel Video Systems will present the latest advances in its flagship product line, the DL4000, a modular platform that allows the implementation of solutions for critical video applications over fiber.

The latest addition to DL4000's products is the DLC410, which allows ASI and SDI video to be transported to managed IP networks – for the first time on this platform.

With SMPTE 2022-based technology for encapsulation error correction, the DLC410 can send two videos over two antennas over a single Gig-E connection.

The DLT710 is another of Artel Video Systems' solutions. This is a multi-format solution for tracking all video types and formats.

It allows simultaneous and automatic verification of multi-format video links. The DLT710 has a circuit check, prior to the installation of the equipment or circuit analysis.

NAB 2011 will be the debut of a new 12-slot chassis that complements Artel's product line and augments the options available. The larger chassis will include BNC connectors on the front panel and LED indicators for ease of use and will triple the overall capacity in a single frame.


  altTripod for ENG cameras

The new Daiwa DST – 73 tripod, has a professional head with the industry standard of 75 mm spherical and can handle up to 7 kg of camera and equipment.

The DST-73's head is all metal and comes with a handle handle, but has supports on both sides of the head to control use. The head has a quick release plate for easy camera assembly and disassembly.

There is also an illuminated bubble level that lights up for 20 seconds when the button is pressed. This makes it easy to set up and in dark places.

It has two lanes at the top in two stages that seek to add stability and prevent complement of return at the end of the sweeping movements.

It also brings a mid-level detachable separator. The legs can fit into the standard DAIWA FL-9 floor triangle or use the standard DAIWA Standing Pads.

State-of-the-art control system
British manufacturer Hi Tech Systems will unveil Avita its new hybrid control system using state-of-the-art touchscreen technology and modular hardware panels to allow multiple users to access multiple server ports on a network.

Avita is a live production system that is designed to capture, edit and play media from multiple sources very easily and quickly - for example, pressing the "Record" button immediately initiates the creation and recording of a clip.

The core of the system is Avita's engine that provides sophisticated video clip management tools with shared databases, various game lists, and enhanced search facilities. Avita can be supplied as a unique software system and can be
fully powered by a touch screen and gesture feature control of different system applications.

The hardware panel has a large transparent touchscreen with gesture control that is used to manage playlists and to configure hardware modules with a wide range of functionality and appearance options.

Union to produce camera
Three companies, two North American and the other from Hong Kong, Manfrotto Distribution, Alister Chapman and Genus, teamed up to produce the Hurricane 3D platform video camera.

The camera was designed from the beginning 3D with the mirror platform system. These are the most versatile type of stereoscopic 3D camera platforms available today.

They can be used in an extremely wide range of 3D applications. However, traditionally they have been very expensive devices only made of small volumes or by special order.

In order to keep the costs down the platform does not feature the electronic controls often found on high-end 3D platforms. Instead, the equipment has manual control of alignment and adjustment.

The use of manual controls makes the equipment especially suitable for users for educational purposes, training centers and experimenters, as they are easy to operate and easy to understand.

Its weight is 6 kg. Most of those currently available professional 3D platforms weigh more than 10 kg.

 
altMultichannel Media Server

Harmonic introduced Omneon Spectrum MediaCenter, a new multi-channel media server with low cost of integrated storage.

Designed specifically for remote playback, MediaCenter offers exceptional value for operations that require four to 12 channels of video in a single-server configuration.

The MediaCenter system drive includes up to 16 TB (more than 600 hours at 50 Mbps) of integrated SATA storage and supports 600 Mbps of real-time channel bandwidth enough for 12 channels of multi-format logging and playing for material at 50 Mbps.

The system works with all spectrum-compatible software applications, and supports up to six external spectrum connection Mediaport I/O modules in real time for ingesting and broadcasting video and audio content.

Equipped with integrated memory, the system not only simplifies installation by eliminating external Fibre Channel storage cabling, but also reduces space requirements and power by collapsing rack space needed for ingestion and emission.

The new MediaCenter maintains compatibility with all spectrum APIs and media formats, ensuring full compatibility of operational media and files with other Spectrum system configurations.

altMeeting customer requirements
Fast Forward Video will showcase a selection of its DVR solutions, each designed to customer requirements and built to the specifications demanded by today's media.

An example of this is the SideKick HD, a camera that will debut at NAB 2011, designed to facilitate workflow production and to meet the demand of post-production producers and editors.

This camera captures video directly from HD/SDI or HDMI, with 4:2:2 sampling and 10-bit resolution in multiple starts with detachable ProRes on manageable 2.5" SSDs.

Direct high-quality recording in NLE formats eliminates the time it takes
transcoding, which can degrade image quality. The SideKick HD also features a 4.3" monitor, which offers replay options including jogging capabilities.

Fast Forward Video has been developing digital video recording technology for 25 years, as well as applications for industry and the military around the world.

altVideo Production Center
Kayenne v3.0 is Grass Valley's enhanced video production center. This version has a multi-camera control directly from the control panel, via Ethernet interface.

The new app includes an account for each camera, with controls including auto iris, auto black level, position filter, and color bars. Image files from many cameras can be saved in a fast switcher memory and at the same time.

It also includes complex systems such as camera shading, which is created and saved by video and location engineers or in the studio.

In short, Kayenne's new software is easy to install and has a new framework editor that eliminates the need to rebuild a macro completely from the beginning simply to modify some of its functions.

The frame editor delivers a simple text description of permission of macro functions to be reorganized and functions to be modified. Since the macro editor is integrated within the menus, all the file direction features of the switch are now available.

altControl program
The latest version of the control software to integrate, create, launch, and control program commands to any number of screens, projectors, and TVs via RF from a network coaxial cable installation, will be unveiled in April in Las Vegas by
Contemporary Research.

Previously, system administrators had access to everything, system settings, creating preset control, scheduling and emergency alerts – and a central control panel.

Each Display Express user can now access the display control server only with the assigned password. With this innovation, more people can have defined access to the exhibition control network.

This software serves as a utility now that there is an explosion of Internet-enabled phones and tablets that open access for everyone. With the addition of personal pages, assignable to web control, more people can take control without adding expensive custom panels or hardware.

Thus, tour guides can demonstrate some features of their iPhones, corporate managers can usually change the sources of news and information on the fly of their desktop, all without touching the primary care system pages, schedule, or features.
