Harmonic Inc., supplier of broadcast and video on demand solutions, announced that entered into an agreement to acquire Rhozet Corporation, a private company based in Santa Clara, California. Rhozet offers software based on transcoding solutions universal that make it easy to create video in multiple formats for internet, mobile and broadcast applications.
The addition of the Rhozet software transcoding technology is expects to enable Harmonic customers in industries broadcast, cable, satellite and telecommunications, create and deliver quality video programming for mobile and internet without setbacks. Harmonic also plans to expand its presence in the market for the provision of online video services, where Rhozet transcoding solutions are used by the internet's leading video content providers including Amazon.com, MSN and Yahoo!.

The Rhozet product line includes Carbon Coder, a self-contained software application for transcoding; and Carbon Server, an application of transcoding administration. This solution highly scalable is designed to allow users to start on a simple system that they can expand to a server major transcoding, and includes such features as load balancing and protection in case of failures for maximum reliability.
