With the concept of HD for everyone: real systems now!, Sony's show at NAB includes products and solutions that share a common element: they are all based on well-established technologies and industry-standard MPEG compression technology. Products such as the new HVR-V1U (HDV) camcorder capable of producing 24P, and XDCAM HD solutions are now complemented by Sonaps systems for news production, and HDXchange, a low-cost solution for sharing network content.
Sonaps is an MXF file-based system for transferring, ingesting, and sharing videos as data files, which can be reviewed and managed by reporters and producers anywhere in the world. HDXchange, meanwhile, is a hardware and software IT system for managing and sharing standard high-definition content from ingest to the final product.
Other products presented by Sony during NAB include the F23 camera, the latest addition to the CineAlta digital cinematography product line, and the HD version of the Anycast Station live production system. Other HD production elements are also presented at the Sony stand , such as cameras, camcorders, multi-format switchers , decks and monitors.
