Mexico. The Plenary of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, authorized Televisión Azteca to change the identity of the multiprogramming programming channel "Proyecto 40" to the "ADN 40" Channel, in relation to 70 television stations in various locations.
The states affected by the decision are: Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Colima, Durango, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Jalisco, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
Additionally, the Plenary authorized Televisora del Valle México, S.A.P.I. de C.V. to change the identity of the multiprogramming programming channel "Proyecto 40" to instead transmit the channel "ADN 40" on the virtual channel 40.1, generated by the same company.
On the other hand, Sistemas Satelitales de México S. DE R.L. DE C.V. was authorized to add 2 satellites and relocate one of its existing satellites; various concession titles were modified to occupy geostationary orbital positions; the transition of four concessions to the single concession regime for commercial use to provide public telecommunications and broadcasting services with national coverage was approved; three concessions were granted to use and exploit frequency bands of the radio spectrum for public use and, as a consequence, the respective single concession titles, and two unique concessions were granted for commercial use to provide any technically feasible telecommunications and broadcasting service in various locations in the states of Guanajuato, Querétaro and Baja California.
