Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, launched "InF@nTics", a space with content aimed at children, which seeks to provide knowledge about telecommunications, technologies, radio, television, cybersecurity and media and information literacy, among other topics.
Given the impact and benefits of the use of technologies to enhance productive and social development, it is necessary to obtain knowledge about the use and exploitation of digital tools from an early age, as well as to generate interest in these issues among children to promote a better environment of innovation, which is inclusive and sustainable.
With InFantics, through games, activities and various information materials, children will learn how to browse safely and how internet, telephony or broadcasting services work. All this by the hand of three characters:
In, a child interested in the development of telecommunications and new technologies;
Fan, a curious girl who loves to know how things work, and
Tics, a robot dog created by both of them.
InF@nTics becomes a microsite in which, with new informative and interactive sections, children will learn about the benefits of the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), become familiar with terms of the digital ecosystem and know what the rights of those who use telecommunications and broadcasting services are.
The new microsite "InF@nTics" can be consulted at the following link: https://infantics.ift.org.mx/
