Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, will carry out the fifth stage planned for this year of the Program for the Promotion and Encouragement of Community and Indigenous Broadcasting (ProRadio).
This program seeks to strengthen and rethink the traditional role of the State vis-à-vis people interested in developing a radio or telecommunications project for social, community and indigenous use.
The 2023 Program aims to provide support and advice to interested people. Through electronic tools, the way in which advice is provided to indigenous and Afro-descendant communities and peoples is reconsidered, depending on the progress of their projects. Likewise, different states of the country are visited to have face-to-face contact.
These strategies seek to establish a basis of close communication in the accompaniment from the management of the formal proposal and, in the case of broadcasting, until they are transmitting with the frequency concessioned for the operation of the stations.
The aim is to promote support for new community, indigenous and Afro-descendant projects, as well as to provide follow-up for those community and indigenous concessionaires that already have a concession regarding the procedures and compliance with obligations.
Those who cannot attend the offices or with the staff commissioned in the localities, will be able to register for the specific virtual consultations that will be 30 minutes.
