Latin America. With the launch of LiOS2 for the Orbiter LED luminaire, ARRI enables better workflows for modern productions. Three new modes establish new possibilities for crews to work and cooperate faster and smarter.
Time matters in every production, and with LiOS2's sync mode, light output can be activated when and how the camera needs it. This LiOS2 automation is designed to free up the crew for true teamwork. Sync mode allows you to enable or change lighting parameters in sync with camera frames. Even the brightness of the frame or the range of CCT can be changed to suit new creative ideas.
Exact timing is key to capturing dynamic images and Cue mode allows precise control of lighting on the spot. Each operator can set the key lighting parameter just in time and accurately. In addition to variable time and work options, the new Cue mode even allows for smooth and easy light changes in different lighting modes. The transition can be selected from five different, already known SkyPanel options.
The optical auto-adjust mode offers 100% color stability with any optics and focus. Using the accessory recognition of Orbiter's innovative QLM (Quick Lighting Mount), the ARRI Spectra light motor is modified to maintain maximum color stability no matter what configuration is used, including textiles such as Softboxes or Domes, a reflector in Open Face or lenses such as the new Orbiter Fresnel lens. In addition, with Orbiter's new Fresnel lens, LiOS2 ensures color reproduction throughout its zoom range. This gives the camera crew time to focus on other important settings.
The new additional language pack supports Portuguese, Japanese, and Korean. Now even more crew members around the world may have an easier time to operate Orbiter.
The basic components of Orbiter are more advanced and capable than any other ARRI light. Expanding the gel library with LiOS2 maintains our commitment to Orbiter's powerful set of features and options.
The values of the color sensor built into Orbiter can now be selected directly from color modes such as CCT or HSI in LiOS2. The combination of ambient light has never been easier, allowing for a final manual adjustment if necessary.
The network and remote control are becoming essential in more and more productions. Fortunately, the new DMX Spec V5 mode allows for more convenient network operation and additional features within the LiOS2 update. For example, the zoom range of the Orbiter Fresnel lens can be operated, allowing Extended Color Control (ECC) to be available directly. Of course, all elements are also addressable via RDM.
