Colombia. The CRC published a report with the analysis of the information of income and subscribers of the subscription television service in Colombia, prepared with the information reported by the operators of the service, which allows to evidence the behavior and trends of the sector, data that are important both for the decision making of the market agents and for the country.
According to the analysis, during the first half of 2021, the subscription television service recorded revenues of $1.7 billion pesos, which shows a growth of 4.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
With a cut to June 2021, 6 million subscribers to the service were reported, which represents a household penetration of 35.8% and the cities with the highest number of subscribers are Bogotá, Cali, Medellín and Barranquilla.
At the departmental level, Antioquia has a household penetration of 49.4%, followed by Valle del Cauda and Cundinamarca with 42.5% and 35.1% respectively, while Bogotá, as a special district, registers a penetration of 51.8% of households connected to the subscription television service.
The average subscription income varied by 4.1%, going from $45,136 in June 2020 to $47,000 in June 2021.
