CNC Media maintains normal emissions in pandemic

CNC media, aeqChile. CNC Media is the leading communications company in northern Chile. It includes a digital newspaper, a television station and three radio stations: Canal95, FM Plus and FM Quiero. They are also members of Archi, the Chilean Radio Association.

In 2020, during the pandemic, the company managed to maintain its radio broadcasts thanks to the use of the remote control SW for the AEQ Capitol IP mixing console, Virtual Capitol, of the Spanish company AEQ.

AEQ Capitol is a digital mixing console that offers all the features that any small or medium-sized radio station may need. It features eight programmable faders, four microphones, 12 analog lines and four AES/EBU inputs, eight analog lines, and four AES/EBU outputs. The console provides control for monitors and headphones in the control room and studio, in-air signage, as well as the optional dual-line phone hybrid, and the VirtualCapitol remote control app.

During the COVID-19 pandemic from CNC Media in an attempt to protect the health of its staff while maintaining radio broadcasts as normally as possible, audio operators and presenters have worked remotely with the VirtualCapitol app.

You can work with the AEQ Capitol mixing console from anywhere in the world where you have an IP connection to your computer. Simply, the VirtualCapitol application runs on a normal PC and from that moment, it takes control of the physical console, performing all the actions that are indicated remotely from a friendly control interface that reproduces exactly the same real control surface of the AEQ Capitol table.

Interestingly, it is not the first time that the VirtualCapitol function of the AEQ Capitol console helps CNC Media Chile to continue with its usual broadcasts in difficult situations. Already in 2016 after heavy storms in the country, the studios suffered significant damage that affected the control surface of AEQ Capitol that had to be repaired.

During the time that the module spent in the workshop the work on the radio was not affected, since the CNC staff operated with the same normality only as using the VirtualCapitol application instead of the physical control of the table at that time damaged by the rains.
