Colombia. MinTic issued Resolution 00056 of January 15, 2020, which regulates the mechanism through which community and public interest broadcasters and community television operators will be able to normalize their portfolio.
"On December 14 of last year, President Iván Duque sanctioned Law 2066 that establishes special payment conditions so that these means that, due to the pandemic, have outstanding balances in favor of the Single ICT Fund, can have a 100% discount for a single time," said THE ICT Minister, Karen Abudinen.
He added: "Now, we issue Resolution 00056 that regulates Article 2 of this Law, which establishes the mechanism, requirements and deadlines to access the benefit, as well as the internal procedure through which the competent areas will carry out verifications, approvals and purifications."
Minister Abudinen revealed that since the issuance of the administrative act, MinTIC has six months to publish the regulations of the procedure to access this benefit, which will host 660 media (356 community and public interest stations and 304 community television operators).
"The total value of the debt of these 660 media outlets is $ 6,875,459,069 million pesos. For us it is very happy to normalize their portfolio, because with this relief they will be able to continue helping us build a better country," said the official.
