Argentina. Enacom announced the first group of indigenous peoples grant winners. These are winning projects of Line D, formats "Equipment and building adaptation" and "Development of new projects", corresponding to the Competitive Promotion Fund of Audiovisual Communication, Fomeca.
For the format "Equipment and building adaptation", whose maximum amount for each project is 600 thousand pesos, a first group of twenty-one projects was the winner and ten were pending that, due to the health emergency due to COVID-19, have not yet been able to comply with all the administrative requirements requested in the last instance of the contest.
For its part, for the format "Development of new projects", with a maximum of 300 thousand pesos per project, twenty-three projects were winners and eight were pending, which are in the same situation mentioned above.
The total amount of money allocated, depending on the sum of this first cut of winning projects, is more than 19 million pesos. Meanwhile, the amount committed for the entire Line D is 27 million pesos.
The call for Line D for Indigenous Peoples had the joint work of ENACOM, the Public Defender's Office of Audiovisual Communication Services and the National Institute of Indigenous Affairs. Trainers from the three agencies traveled to different provinces to accompany the communities in the processes of submission to FOMECA. Thanks to this joint work, a record of participation of indigenous communities in FOMECA was achieved, since a total of 51 indigenous communities presented projects.
