Colombia. Mariana Viña Castro was chosen by the directors of the regional channels Canal Capital, Telecaribe, Canal Trece, Canal Tro, Teleantioquia, Telecafé, Teleislas and Telepacífico, as their representative in the Session of the Audiovisual Content Commission of the CRC.
Mariana is a lawyer from the Externado de Colombia University, Specialist in Public Economic Law from the same university. She has more than 18 years of experience in the communications and audiovisual sector, having worked in project structuring activities, regulation, supervision, monitoring, and surveillance and control, among others, in entities such as Inravisión, RTVC, National Television Commission and National Television Authority in which she served as Secretary General of the National Television Board and Director.
With her appointment, the lawyer becomes the first Commissioner, representative of the regional channels, in the Session of the Audiovisual Content Commission of the CRC, a session created with the signing of the law on the modernization of the ICT sector and which will be responsible for guaranteeing pluralism and informative impartiality, promoting national production and defending the rights of audiovisual consumers.
The Commissioners missing to finish forming the Session of the Audiovisual Content Commission will be selected as a result of the contest held by the National University of Colombia.
