Brazil. In the edition of the SET Expo fair that has just ended, the EVS company presented its virtualization solutions, being the first fair in Latin America in which they exhibit the X-One, an all-in-one switcher that has a special price for the region and that allows to solve the needs of small productions and cost effective.
In conversation with TVyVideo+Radio, Alfredo Cabrera, VP of sales of EVS for Latin America, highlighted that his other switcher for IP in 2110, Divi, has been well received in Latin America given the paradigm shift and the processing power it has and due to the momentum in the adoption of IP in the region.
"In Latin America several servers have been sold in IP, the infrastructure of the EVS servers come SDI and IP, and there are plans of several customers who have acquired these servers to migrate to IP in the coming months. There are also several projects in IP in Latin America to be born in IP," he said.
He added that business in the region is stable for EVS, even with growth, which is rare for the market that is going through a difficult time in recent years. He pointed out that the advantage is that the factory has worked with Latin America, recognizing the interests and needs of the regional market in price and capabilities, which has allowed them to adapt very well and has opened doors with new customers.
"The industry is hit by different sectors, paradigms have been broken, but people still watch sports, watch news, their favorite local TV content. Millennials are not going to always stay millennials, you go through phases in life and the phone serves for a phase but eventually the needs change. There is a space for each segment and I don't think television is going to end," alfredo cabrera concluded.
