Latin America. Sony introduced REA-C1000, its first AI-based Edge Analytics solution, which allows users to create video content in real time without the need for specialized training or additional staff or equipment.
The compact and lightweight REA-C1000 uses its advanced AI-based video analytics technology to analyze the content it receives from connected cameras and automatically isolate the focused object to combine it with other images in real time using a GPU (graphics processing unit).
This unique technology combines facial and motion detection with shape and color recognition to make the REA-C1000 the powerful brain of any connected camera and audio-visual setup. This allows organizations in the education, government, and corporate sectors to create professional content cost-effectively that keeps their audience engaged.
The REA-C1000, which will be available in the second quarter of 2019, includes the following five optional features: handwriting extraction, speaker overlay, chroma-free CG overlay, automatic control of output images (such as automatic PTZ tracking), focus area cropping, and gesture zooming.
After an initial 60-day free trial, each feature can be permanently activated through separate licenses, so users can freely customize the features they need to their needs and budget.
Sony has applied its image quality know-how and camera development expertise to the REA-C1000 to deliver 4K/HD input and output and direct connection capability with PTZ cameras, including its XDCAM range of camcorders, which boasts outstanding image quality and widespread use in the broadcasting industry.
In addition, thanks to its HDMI network connection, the REA-C1000 can be seamlessly integrated into different common audiovisual configurations with several monitors, projections on large screens with monitors or even in live broadcast projects.
