Latin America. The EVS company has historically been characterized by having wide recognition in its solutions for the production of sports. But in recent years, its efforts have focused on growing in other segments.
Alfredo Cabrera, vice president of sales for Latin America of EVS, told TVyVideo+Radio that "a job has been done at all levels and that is why people already identify EVS beyond sports, with news, study and master control, and we continue to see how the development of the IP market is with the company's solutions available. We're looking at what customers are going to do in terms of embracing new IP trends and how they're doing it."
Since 2018, EVS included virtualization in its platform and by 2019 they will present a completely new virtualized platform, with much higher performance, which is expected to have an interesting reception by customers.
He stressed that the large broadcsters are implementing IP in 2022 and will look to implement 2110, but he does not see full facility implementations nor does he believe that small customers will venture to IP technology soon. In his opinion, pure IP technology is not yet ready, there are still no accesses at a reasonable price, but this will change over the next two years.
"2018 in the Latin market closed very positive in terms of numbers for us and with prospecting for this year very good. For 2019 we expect growth in Brazil, that Argentina stabilizes and that the new government of Mexico is positive for business. We hope to continue growing and reach the markets in which we are not with our solutions, continue the work we are doing in traditional markets and be considered in most of the projects that come out," concluded Alfredo Cabrera.
