Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, published Ministerial Resolution No. 914-2018-MTC/01.03, which seeks to update the Amateur Radio Regulations in accordance with new technologies and regulatory modifications related to the simplification of procedures.
The current standard – which will be replaced by this project – dates from 1995, date since which it has not had any change or update, so the sector considers it necessary to update it.
This project seeks to specify the requirements and administrative procedures that allow obtaining the enabling titles necessary to establish the amateur radio service. In addition, it constitutes which are the bands and frequencies that correspond to this service in its different categories.
The entity clarified that those telecommunications services whose transmissions and activities are non-profit, exercised in a personal capacity by amateurs, and whose purposes are those of intercommunication, entertainment, experimentation, technological training, research, and social support.
The aforementioned regulation establishes a period of 30 working days for interested parties to send their comments and / or suggestions, which will be received through the email [email protected] or in writing to the General Directorate of Regulation and International Communications Affairs, located at Jr. Zorritos Nº 1203, Cercado de Lima.
