Chile. The nine competitive lines defined by the CNTV 2018 Fund received a total of $4,316,772,000 Chilean pesos, which supported the execution of 26 projects among 246 that participated in the call.
The delivery of these awards was attended by the Minister of Culture and the Arts, Consuelo Valdés, Councilors of the CNTV, directors of television channels, audiovisual filmmakers, among other authorities.
The president of the National Television Council, Catalina Parot, highlighted the importance of this Fund for the Chilean audiovisual industry and stressed that "the programs awarded by the CNTV that are transmitted on open television are of high quality and with cultural content, that is, contents that generate long memory, promote the transformative potential of television and, according to terms of the audience, content that "leaves you something". They are programs that broaden the horizon and reinforce our identity."
The winners were:
• Two Historical Series: "Camaleón" and "Isabel Allende: No Me Mires Así".
• Two Fiction Series: "Chromosome 21" and "Protective".
• Two Non-Fiction Series: "Free" and "Years Later, What Do You Dream Of?"
• Three Regional Productions: "Confines carcelarios", "Comunidad Tierra" and "Alas".
• Two Children's Series for Preschool Audiences from 3 to 6 years old: "Hola Flinko" and "Marzipan animated."
• Two Series for Children from 6 to 12 years old: "Zander" and "Paleodetectives, Latin America".
• Two New Season Support Programs: "Ruka's Fantastic Journeys" and "62 History of a World Cup".
• An International Co-Production Program: "Secreto Ancestral", carried out in conjunction with Mexico and Colombia.
• 10 Community Programs: "Arauco, leyenda viva", "Volver a la tierra", "Mitos y leyendas de Peñaflor", "Chuchunco City", "Historia de un crack", "La ola de todos", "En defensa" "Mankacen, cazador de sombras", "La historia sumergida" and "Más allá de las olas".
