Mexico. The Federal Institute of Telecommunications, IFT, was unanimously appointed as president of the Platform of Regulators of the Audiovisual Sector of Ibero-America (PRAI) for the period 2018-2020.
In the framework of its Third Ordinary General Assembly of the Platform, which took place in Mexico City, and which the IFT hosted, the members of the PRAI elected their 2018-2020 Steering Committee, which will also be made up of two vice-presidencies, one occupied by the Audiovisual Council of Catalonia, CAC, and the other by the National Television Authority of Colombia, ANTV.
The PRAI brings together regulatory bodies from countries such as Chile, Spain, Peru, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil; and aims to be an organization that promotes the exchange of ideas, the generation of knowledge and the development of strategic projects in Latin America.
As a result of the two working days, the members discussed issues of common interest, shared experiences and best practices in the field of media regulation and audiovisual content. Various amendments to the Statutes of the PRAI were also approved and the 2018-2020 Work Plan was approved.
