Brazil. From Gates Air it is perceived that there are many projects underway, both on television and radio, which will allow to close a good year of business in Latin America, despite the political or economic problems that may exist in the region.
In conversation with TVyVideo+Radio, Diego Gilles, sales director for Latin America of the transmitter manufacturer, said that they are optimistic about the market and in the case of Brazil, they have a good local partner, Focus, which has a very strong support structure and that gives peace of mind to customers that they will have a good service.
"Today the market is strong in transmitters for medium and low power television. In high power there are some transmitter replacement projects that are working on digital but had lower energy efficiency. Now they can be replaced by transmitters that save a lot of energy and in a year and a half you pay only the transmitter, because they consume a quarter of what the transmitters consumed before, "said Diego Gilles.
He added that another project that is helping the market in Brazil in radio is the advancement of the extended band, the use of VHF low-band channels to transmit radio signals. New cars already have a tuner capable of receiving FM signal on those frequencies. This band will be officially released in early 2019.
