Mexico. Belden presented numerous novelties for the professional video market in Mexico. Among them, the new series of coaxials for UHD. This cable is highly appreciated by the engineers of the giro for its simplicity of connectorization, as well as distance and shielding.
Therefore, faced with the challenge of UHD (4K), it offers a simple "upgrade", now that many broadcast equipment are taking out SDI-UHD signal by BNC connector. This allows to maintain a hybrid environment: coaxial 4K in the forums, and tend towards the "broadcast data center" (or IP router) in the master. All this without having to take a leap in the void.
The Coax UHD family comes in different thicknesses that adapt to the distance the customer needs to transport their signal. The secret lies in the silver coating on the copper conductor, which is a material with maximum conductivity to carry a signal as demanding as SDI UHD (12 Ghz). It is the ideal tool to turn in the 4K world while maintaining traditional wiring.
For users who are already thinking about the SMPTE 2110 (video broadcast over IP) standard, Belden manufactures specific ethernet cables, which guarantee the integrity of this signal. The Ethernet cable was not designed to carry the enormous capacity required by HD video over IP, nor to work in real time (without latency) or to avoid the high susceptibility that a broadcast signal presents to interference noise. Therefore, in Belden they adapted the data cables to help in this task.
Belden category cables for video over IP are built under the patent "pair glued", which allows the travel of the signal without distancing one conductor from the other, without separating. They are braided and glued to prevent gaps from opening, losing symmetry and changing the impedance of the cable. Finally, Belden also manufactures all types of optical fiber: in coil (indoor, outdoor) or connectorized (jumper, pigtail), as well as specific accessories for optical fiber (cassette, frame, chassis, splitter, taps, among others).
