Latin America. Beyond portable transmission systems, TVU offers comprehensive solutions for broadcast transmission, such as closed captioning, IP video production, routing and distribution of live video over IP, among many other solutions, explained Rafael Castillo, General Manager for Latin America at TVU.
Castillo explained, "Our offering goes beyond simply transmitting. The president of the company has a very clear vision of what needs to happen between now and the next five years with our industry. The number of viewers, as the term "viewers" says, has decreased, but that does not mean that the consumption of content has decreased, which is increasing because there are other platforms that allow you to consume them. Then you have to produce more for different platforms, to be able to generate greater income by marketing events that were not produced before."
He said: "El Financiero and Televisa de México are customers who are using our equipment. Most of our customers in the world use combinations of different suppliers, from the competition and ours. Just as they deploy, so do we. Both for the Football World Cup Russia 2018, for the elections in Mexico and also now there is a marathon event that is going to be in August."
"Even if you see little hardware, we are showing almost everything. TVU solutions is a cloud hosting, with the server that can be a receiver. We show TVU Grid; TVU Transcriber, generate text by speech recognition, as well as the closed captioning tool, with the same server. We are showing remote production with the RBS, (Remote Production System)," Castillo explained.
"We're showing TVU Grid to access CNN content; we have access to YouTube, as well as the pack we already have here. We're showing the TM-1000 in H.265 file — which is the transmission system, what we call the backpack to the receiver. We are assembling the TVU Nano, which is an access point router, which like TVU One transmits the signal from the camera to its receiver and also behaves like an access point."
