Peru. The Ministry of Transport and Communications, MTC, ordered the publication on its institutional web portal of the project that modifies the "Measures to inform consumers in a timely manner about the lack of capacity of the broadcasting receiving equipment to receive a Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) signal under the ISDB-T standard", in order that the population can broadcast their comments.
This is established by Ministerial Resolution 421-2018 MTC/01.03, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano. The proposed modification corresponds to numeral 4 of Ministerial Resolution 048-2017/01.03, which establishes the mandatory use of an informative label that must be attached to televisions that cannot receive a digital signal under the ISDB-T standard, which will be located in a visible part of the screen to facilitate users to access that information.
In this way, it seeks to ensure that consumers are informed in a timely manner about the equipment they acquire. In addition, it indicates that marketers and / or suppliers must inform consumers if it is necessary to purchase, additionally, a UHF antenna or a DTT digital decoder/tuner to receive the signal.
Citizens interested in submitting contributions or comments on the proposed measure can send them to the MTC. The format of comments of the aforementioned normative project is in the annex of the ministerial resolution and must be sent via email to [email protected]. The proposal will be available for 30 on the MTC web portal. You can access the documents cited here.
The DTT signal will be progressively implemented throughout Peru, it is currently available in Lima and Callao, as well as in Arequipa, Cusco, Trujillo, Chiclayo, Piura and Huancayo.
