Padcaster bets on portable streaming for streaming

Latin America. Given the growing transmission of live videos (via YouTube, Facebook Live, Periscope, Snapchat, Instagram Live, Livestream, among others), the solutions for better video capture on mobile devices becomes important. Padcaster offers relevant solutions for this, said Randy Enish, the company's founding partner.

"We present the Padcaster Verse, which can be found at a price of US $ 59.99, hardware that includes a grip that can be held on any type of smartphone; it also has slots to place accessories such as lights; also a lower slot that can be adapted to any kind of stabilizer. If you need something with more solutions you can consider the $359 kit, which includes the grip that holds a Padcaster microphone to the mobile," he described during NAB Show 2018.

He described: "We have another tripod/stabilizer, with a space for batteries, so you can charge the phone while using the equipment, although it can also be compacted and with that you get shots from the forearm. It's very good for getting mobile images or for doing video journalism when you travel far and don't want to load up a lot of equipment. The kit weighs three and a half kilograms."

He said the company's products already have diverse markets in both the United States and Latin America. "We are already in schools and companies around Latin America. Companies like SAP have purchased our video conferencing products. It is also a very good proposal for a startup that wants to create good quality content and for those people who are good with sales. The ability to have a teleprompter on an iPad means that you just have to upload the script and just portray yourself – even if you are a shy person with the cameras it helps a lot and gives self-confidence to use the prompter; it's a big plus."

Enish stated that the education sector or new videographers are using their products: "In the education sector of Latin America they love our product, as many teachers encourage their students to learn using video technology and with that the educator can change their curriculum and provide in a more creative way. Kids appreciate it a lot because they have their iPads and cell phones and they know how to work with such devices and they can learn more about their homework. We started to see how they use it, because we create products, but customers find different ways to use them and innovate with them," he said during NAB Show 2018.
