Colombia. The National Television Board approved $215 billion in resources to ensure the sustainability of public television service operators in 2018.
For this reason, the National Television Authority will allocate $145 billion through the Fund for the Development of Television and Content, to finance the operation and operation of RTVC and the investment plans of regional channels; that is, $80.14 billion and $65.57 billion will be designated, respectively.
"Next year, with the aim of continuing to strengthen and support public television, the Entity has increased investment for regional public operators by 21.1% in relation to the resources allocated by FONTV the previous year, so that each of the operators continues to strengthen the quality of their content and their technological infrastructure", said Ángela María Mora Soto, director of the ANTV.
It should be remembered that in 2017 there was an investment budget of more than $177 billion, which was distributed for the financing of investment plans and special projects, for the programming of Channel One by RTVC and for the installation of DTT decoders, allocating more than $54 billion to regional channels.
It is important to note that, of the total budget for next year, the ANTV will allocate $40 billion for the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television and the solution for universal access.
